Cancer can bring up many financial or money concerns for people with cancer and their families. Besides the hospital bills and other charges related to treatment, there may be costs that are not covered by insurance, such as gas, bus fare or taxi fare, medicine, and child care. At a time when people are concerned about losing their job or income, this burden may seem huge. The good news is that there are programs to help with many costs. You may need to do some homework to find ones that will fit your need and that will allow you to join. There are programs for people who do not have insurance or need help with costs, such as medications, utility bills, and daily living.
